Planning

The Planning Department main function is to provide for the orderly growth of the Town of Brookhaven.  To achieve this, the Planning Department has a number of responsibilities.  The Division reviews proposals for subdivision, land division, site plans, road improvements and changes of use to ensure that the projects incorporate best planning practices.

The Planing Department also conducts various zoning and land use studies and makes recommendations on updating and improving the Town of Brookhaven’s Master Plan.  The Planning Department also provides planning and land use recommendations to the Planning Board, Town Board, and Board of Zoning Appeals.
