The Town of Brookhaven is divided into 35 garbage improvement areas and eight incorporated villages (Belle Terre, Bellport, Lake Grove, Oldfield, Patchogue, Poquott, Port Jefferson, and Shoreham) that are responsible for adminstration of garbage services. The villages arrange for waste management as they see fit, although the Town will provide certain services to village residents.
